Shirley has worked in the market research industry for over 20 years. Her career started in the US on the supplier side providing research services for large private corporations. She moved to Canada in the early 1990s and moved to work on the client side for a public sector organization where she helped build their customer strategy.
Currently she works at Vancity, leading the research and insights team. She continuously advocates for the integration of customer voice into all business decisions. One of her passions is being a coach and mentor. She is currently a mentor for Bringing Women Together Mentorship Program. A quote she lives by is “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.” Shirley is also currently the Chair of the Board for a non-profit community service organization.
When not working or volunteering you will find Shirley either hiking or running on the trails of the North Shore. She is also the mother to two grown sons and loves to try new recipes for her family to experience.
